How Bent Palm designs your project

Project before Bent Palm Design Build starts

Step One: Consultation

Bent Palm will begin with a detailed discussion where we’ll learn about your dreams, needs and ideas.  These will be the guidelines as we design your project.  We’ll also perform an initial site inspection of your property to ensure your dreams, needs and ideas will actually work with your space.

Bent Palm will then draw up floor plans of your existing area, create rough initial plans of the proposed changes and create  a document outlining the project’s parameters for review back at the office. These notes will give us a general idea of the scope, time commitment and budget of your project that we will go over in great detail upon our follow up appointment.

Step Two: Detailed Design

You and your Bent Palm designer will discuss types of materials, colors, and features you’d like to see implemented into your design.  He or she will create a 3-D full color rendering concept of you project, so you’ll actually get to see what your space will really look like.

At the end of the Detailed Design phase, you will have a final construction cost estimate and written specifications for the project.  The thorough legwork of our designer, estimator and production team results in a plan that we all can follow with confidence.

Step Three: Construction Documentation

After you approve the design and sign the construction agreement, we will create a schedule to establish a timeline for the project describing when final material selections need to be made, completion of the construction drawing sets, and your start and guaranteed completion date.  We’ll officially open your E-Folder, and secure all of the required permits.

You and your designer will make all of the material selections for your new project, and he or she will produce the final drawing sets.

There will be a lot of choices to be made, and our professionals will help you wade through them all to make sure your new project reflects your personal style.

Step Four: Construction

You will meet your Certified Lead Carpenter (CLC), who will be your on-site project manager, and together you’ll go over our comprehensive pre-construction checklist.  During construction, you can expect respectful craftsmen who leave the work area clean, regular quality control inspections and weekly meetings with your CLC.

The construction of your project ends with a final inspection and walk-through to ensure the quality of every detail. Even though you’ll have the house to yourself again, we’re still available to help should any issue arise: every client receives a comprehensive two-year warranty on our work…
